Prostate Cancer “In 1993, after my regular annual check-up, my PSA test came back at 170 and my Gleason score was 5. A biopsy was ordered immediately, and I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. My cancer had metastasized to my spine and my pelvic lymph nodes. The cancer was so advanced, that it was inoperable, and it was deemed that radiation and chemotherapy would be futile. My doctors expressed skepticism about any chance of recovery. They told me that I might have at the outmost, two and a half years to live. Obviously, this was devastating news for me and my family. I was not even 50 years old, and I was essentially being issued a death sentence. A friend of mine, a physician, suggested that I pay a visit to Dr. Goh. At that time, I was completely unfamiliar with acupuncture or Chinese medicine, but I was desperate – I would try anything.
On my first visit, Dr. Goh employed standard diagnostic procedures for Traditional Chinese Medicine, checking my pulse and looking at my tongue. She took a complete inventory of my medical history and inquired about my lifestyle. After the examination, she confidently asserted that she could help me and, at minimum, she could extend my life for more than the two and a half years I had been given by the doctors.
I received acupuncture twice a week for two months, and then once a week for six months. Dr. Goh also started me on a Chinese herbal regimen and counseled me on implementing changes to my diet. I continued to work, had acupuncture appointments, prepared, and drank the prescribed medicinal herbal teas every day, and maintained a strict diet as prescribed by Dr. Goh.
Within 6 months my PSA level had returned to normal. Within one year of my diagnosis, there was not one detectable sign of cancer anywhere in my body! Fourteen years later, I am in great health. I maintain my health through exercise and taking supplements.
